Students will learn all anatomical, biomechanical, physiological and metabolic factors related to aerobic endurance performance, how to choose the appropriate exercise mode for training, how to develop and implement safe and effective aerobic training programs for athletes and non-athletes targeting not only performance but also health promotion, assess endurance using laboratory and field tests, how to monitor intensity using modern technology (e.g. GPS, heart rate monitoring etc.), to use both continuous and interval type methodologies for developing endurance and how to combine endurance training with other forms of training. Altitude and other environmental factors are also analyzed.
